ESG assurance

Validate your sustainability reports and initiatives with independent assurance for GHG accounting, ESG reporting and regulatory compliance.

Our approach

01

Data assurance

Reliable assurance starts with reliable data. We independently assess the completeness, accuracy and consistency of your ESG data, with a particular focus on greenhouse gas inventories and Scope 1, 2 and 3 emissions. Our review covers organisational and operational boundaries, source documentation, calculation methods, emission factors, estimates, controls and data trails against recognised criteria such as the GHG Protocol or CO2-Prestatieladder. Through risk-based testing and sample checks, we identify material misstatements and limitations, provide clear recommendations for remediation, and help ensure data quality and integrity.

02

Rapportage assurance

We assess whether your sustainability report is complete, balanced and supported by sufficient evidence. From reporting under European standards such as the CSRD or VSME to other international frameworks like GRI or IFRS, we review the reporting scope, materiality assessment, metrics, qualitative disclosures, policies, targets, and underlying records. Additionally, we offer assurance on integrated reporting by assessing whether the non-financial information presented across the six capitals provides an accurate, evidence-based account of how your organisation creates value over time. Depending on your needs, the engagement can be designed around limited or reasonable assurance criteria and prepared for the applicable assurance standard. You receive a clear overview of findings, required corrections and recommendations, helping you substantiate credible disclosures and publish a robust ESG report with confidence.

03

Compliance assurance

Compliance claims gain credibility when the underlying processes and evidence can withstand independent review. To support your company on its path to audit-ready compliance, we assess whether your organisation has correctly interpreted and implemented the relevant requirements of regulations like the CBAM or EUDR. As part of the validation process, we verify whether your calculations, due diligence records, declarations and audit trails provide sufficient evidence to support your compliance claims. We provide you with a report on the remaining gaps and inconsistencies, practical corrective actions, and recommendations for remediation where required. This gives management and stakeholders greater confidence that compliance is not only documented, but demonstrable in practice.

Frequently asked questions

Why is ESG assurance important for your business?

ESG assurance gives stakeholders confidence that your sustainability data, disclosures and compliance claims are accurate, complete and supported by evidence. Independent review reduces the risk of material errors, greenwashing allegations and regulatory scrutiny, while strengthening the information used by management, investors, customers and other value chain partners. It also reveals weaknesses in data ownership, calculation methods, and documentation, helping you improve internal processes and report with greater confidence.

For which companies is ESG assurance most relevant?

Any organisation that publishes sustainability information or relies on ESG data for decisions can benefit from assurance. It is especially relevant for companies reporting under the CSRD or VSME, businesses responding to investor or customer data requests, and organisations that want to publish substantiated sustainability claims. Assurance is also valuable for companies with complex Scope 3 emissions, international value chains, tender requirements or regulatory obligations under frameworks such as CBAM and the EUDR.

When should you start preparing for ESG assurance?

The best time to prepare is before the reporting period or assurance engagement begins. Early preparation gives you time to define reporting boundaries, assign data owners, document methodologies, strengthen controls and resolve evidence gaps before figures and disclosures are finalised. This is particularly important ahead of a first CSRD or voluntary report, major stakeholder request, tender, or the publication of emissions and compliance claims. An early readiness review helps prevent last-minute corrections, delays and additional costs.

Do you offer assurance on other ESG data, disclosures and compliance claims?

Yes, in addition to GHG accounting, ESG reports and compliance under CBAM and the EUDR, we can tailor assurance to other environmental, social and governance disclosures and claims. This may include energy and resource data, value-chain information, policies, targets, performance indicators, due diligence records and selected disclosures under recognised reporting or regulatory frameworks. We first define the subject matter, applicable criteria, intended users and required level of assurance, and then design a proportionate, evidence-based engagement around your needs.

What makes our SaaS model unique for ESG assurance?

Our Sustainability as a Service model makes assurance readiness a continuous process rather than a one-off exercise before publication. For a fixed monthly fee, our specialists act as an extension of your team, helping maintain evidence trails, monitor controls, update methodologies, prepare data owners and address findings throughout the year. The service is modular and tailored to your reporting cycle and assurance scope, giving you ongoing access to expertise without building a full in-house assurance function. This keeps your ESG information reliable, traceable and ready for publication.
